Welcome

Welcome to the International Students' Pages of Craighead Diocesan School for Girls.

First established in 1911, Craighead is a Christian Boarding and Day school for girls from year 7-13 (ages 11 to 18). It is in the small city of Timaru which is close to Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand.

Our total school roll is restricted to 350, and we accept up to 20 International students. Classes are small (17-20) and all students are fully supported as they study. The school has a strong academic focus. Students work towards all national examinations and are prepared for University study.

International students are given a warm and personal welcome to Craighead. Girls are met on arrival at the airport, an individual orientation programme is provided, uniforms and equipment purchased, and banking facilities set up.

I meet with new students daily until they are fully integrated into the school. Each girl then continues to spend time with me each week to discuss any concerns with her work or personal issues.

We hope that the information we provide here will help you to learn more about Craighead.
